The Kerala government has introduced a capital subsidy of ₹7 crore for logistics parks.

The Kerala State government has taken a significant step towards bolstering the logistics sector by announcing a capital subsidy of up to ₹7 crore for logistics parks. Industries Minister P. Rajeeve unveiled draft guidelines outlining the government’s dedication to nurturing the industry. These guidelines propose offering incentives such as industry status and a simplified single-window clearance system for logistics parks.

The draft underscores the importance of supporting ancillary facilities like skill development, storage, transportation, and other services to encourage the establishment of logistics parks in the state. It suggests stamp duty concessions for both logistics parks and mini logistics parks. Furthermore, the proposal includes the creation of a logistics park coordination committee, led by the Chief Secretary.

During the release of the draft paper, Paul Antony, Chairman of KSIDC, highlighted the abundant opportunities for logistics parks in the state. This initiative aims to cultivate a favorable environment for the logistics industry, thereby stimulating economic growth and generating employment opportunities in Kerala.
